Identify a startup idea, a problem to tackle. Anything goes.

You can change it during the course, or affiliate yourself with other ideas/teams you find interesting.

Just try.

Record a video of yourself, presenting the idea in your own words.

Don’t let this step scare you. It might be just what differentiates you from thinking about becoming an entrepreneur and doing it.

There’s no time limit, just space – try and keep it below 50 MB.

Upload the video in the registration section, next to your other personal information.

FAQs

Do I have to be a tech person to attend NextGen? Do I have to know AI, blockchain, or Quantum Computing?

No previous business or tech skills are required.

     

Do I have to have a startup idea to attend NextGen? If I do, do I have to stick with it until the end of the program?

You don’t need a polished startup idea to register for this course. Get creative, be resourceful, and catch our eye. How? That’s up to you! 

I’m not a UPT member (student or staff). Can I participate?

Yes, you can. We just mainly prioritize UPT students.

Can we participate with an already-formed team?

By all means, do bring your friends and colleagues along!

How will I fund my idea?

We recommend you focus on validating and building your startup. Plenty of VCs and/or Angel Investors would be willing to fund your business once it’s on the right track.
